MEET THE TEAM
Colin created Fogwill and Jones in 2000 to fulfil his dual goals of providing a truly independent financial service and treating clients how he would like to be treated himself. Straight talking, no nonsense and informed; Colin’s in depth knowledge and experience of the global markets and tax legislation coupled with an unwavering focus on personal service has created a company that is motivated and driven to provide clients with financial success.
Chris took up the role as Managing Director having previously worked as a Financial Advisor for a number of years. His focus is to ensure we deliver a full holistic financial planning and wealth management service that puts our clients at the heart of everything that we do. Chris is fully committed to ensuring our knowledgeable and experienced planning team, as well as our dedicated and friendly support team are committed to providing a personable service and offering expert advice at all times.
Outside of the office, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, walking the family dog and staying fit and active.
Simon has worked in financial services for over 38 years in Compliance, Training and Advisory roles. He uses his technical and legislative knowledge to work closely with the advisers and paraplanners to ensure that we provide the most appropriate advice for our clients. Simon believes that a strong compliance process and good training are the best ways of producing positive outcomes for clients and making sure that they are treated fairly. Simon is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and a Chartered Financial Planner.
Away from work, Simon likes watching sport, spending time with family, regularly visiting the Yorkshire coast and travelling in Europe.
Having worked in the financial services sector for over 30 years, Andrew is a Chartered Financial Planner offering a wealth of experience in helping people with diverse and complex needs to achieve their financial and personal aspirations. Andrew believes that effective financial planning begins and ends with a trusting relationship with your adviser and advocates an empathetic and holistic approach to deliver a tailored, lifetime plan.
Outside of the office, Andrew is a member of North Derbyshire Running Club and enjoys fell running and walking with friends in the Peak District.
Sophie is an Accredited Member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) and specialises in providing expert advice in all later life matters and retirement planning.
Her hard working attitude and attention to detail is a definite bonus when exploring her client’s objectives to ensure that she fully understands the clients’ desires and the very best outcome is achieved. While working closely with her existing clients, Sophie ensures that they are provided with a bespoke tailor made financial plan with regular reviews to accommodate any changes that may occur.
Outside of work, Sophie enjoys socialising with her friends and family, travelling to new and exciting destinations and has recently joined her local gym.
David is the latest member of the Fogwill & Jones team. The COVID-19 pandemic caused him to reassess his career which up until that point had been in the education recruitment sector. His natural aptitude for figures, strong ethical values and the desire to continue working with people led him to pursue a new career as a Financial Adviser.
Outside of work David enjoys spending time with his wife and children, reading real crime autobiographies and is a long suffering Newcastle United fan. In addition David actively supports the local community, sharing his skills and knowledge by being a member of the Governing Body at Silverdale Secondary School.
Helen joined Fogwill & Jones in May 2008, initially as a receptionist, however, she quickly moved into the Investment Services Co-ordinator role, where she mainly dealt with our Discretionary Service as well as all other aspects of administration within the company.
Over the last 13 years Helen has worked her way up to her current role of qualified Paraplanner, a role she has been working in for over 5 years, where she works closely with our advisers providing technical research and support, writing reports, client liaison and managing client files. Helen’s friendly and efficient manner has helped her build close working relationships with many of our clients, and building these close working relationships is an aspect of the job Helen greatly enjoys.
Outside of the office, Helen enjoys spending time with her family, listing to music, going to Gigs, watching Ice Hockey, Football and reading.
Lee has worked at Fogwill & Jones since July 2012, beginning in a Tax Returns/Investment & Fee Administrator role and is now Diploma 4 qualified in Financial Services. Currently working as a Paraplanner where more detailed technical knowledge is required to work closely with the Adviser team in order to undertake technical research, draft reports and liaise with clients.
Outside of work, Lee has to amassed a huge retro gaming collection and more LEGO than could theoretically be built in one lifetime.
With a 1st Class Mathematics Degree Olivia has an analytical approach and enjoyment for the complex numerical aspects of her role. Olivia is a valued member of our team, with over 12 years of administrative and customer facing roles. She has recently finished studying for her Diploma 4 qualification in Regulated Financial Planning to become a fully qualified Paraplanner. Olivia enjoys working closely with our Advisers to assist in technical research requirements and the preparation of suitability reports for our clients. She believes that accuracy is of paramount importance when dealing with these areas on behalf of our clients.
Outside of work Olivia enjoys going to the gym regularly, travelling overseas and spending time with her friends and family.
Diane has a wealth of experience in running a busy office and has worked at Fogwill & Jones for 8 years. She has qualifications in Business Studies, Contract Law and Financial Services. Diane is responsible for the administration team and is keen to build on our ethos of providing clients with a friendly, professional and highly efficient service.
Outside of work, Diane spends her time with family and friends and travelling around supporting her son’s football teams.
Ruth has been a valuable member of the Fogwill & Jones team for 19 years. For 11 years Ruth work as a Probate Administrator; she has a wealth of experience in this area and has worked closely with the Executors providing a very caring and detailed overview to assist them at a very difficult time.
In her current role she is responsible for producing all the information required by advisers for their client reviews along with the preparation and recording of the Trustee minutes.
Outside of work, Ruth is a keen cyclist and has raised money for charity by cycling a 103 mile sportive, enjoys running, walking, hiking and travelling both in the UK and abroard.
Fiona joined our administration team with many years’ experience in providing first class administration services; she is used to multi-tasking and liaising with various agencies on behalf of clients, ensuring that deadlines are met and work is completed with accuracy.
Fiona enjoys reading, gardening, going to the gym and spending time with family and friends.
Helen has over 22 years’ experience in providing face to face customer service in a variety of industries and has joined Fogwill & Jones to work alongside our administration team. Helen will be responsible for the organisation of appointment packs, income for our pension clients, post appointment letters and information as well as other ad hoc administration duties.
Outside of the office, Helen enjoys spending time in the countryside, walking cycling or camping. She’s also loves skiing and plans to spend at least one week each year in the Alps enjoying the extensive pistes.
Liam joined the team in April this year in the Planning Support role which covers several areas from providing support to the advisers, to undertaking research for our Investment Director. Liam previously worked as a Trainee Financial Planner and is Diploma Level 4 qualified and has a First Class degree in Finance and Banking from Sheffield Hallam University.
Outside of work, Liam enjoys spending time with his family and his new dog, as well watching football, reading, gaming and going to music gigs. He is patiently waiting for his favourite team, Tottenham Hotspur to win their first premier league title.
Nicola has over 30 years’ experience in administration, customer service, receptionist and accounts roles in varied sectors. Nicola is likely to be the first team member you meet when you visit our office and always greets our clients with a very warm welcome.
Outside of work Nicola enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking the family dog, attending music concerts and live comedy shows and supporting her sons football team.
